Frequently Asked Questions
What should I expect from my appointment?
First, expect to find your dream dress or we can customize a dress from scratch to finish for you! Appointments for brides are about an hour long. During your appointment, we will ask for you to refrain from taking any photos at the request of the designer.
To schedule an appointment, please call us at (814)588-3113 or schedule it online at: www.madelangecouture.com
What I need to know for my appointment?
When preparing for your appointment, please bring appropriate shoes and undergarments (strapless bra or smoother). Please keep your group as small as possible, because our boutique is small and we can only accommodate seating for about 4 or 5 people.
Are walk-ins welcome?
If you plan on walking into our studio, we will do our best to accommodate you. We recommend calling ahead to make an appointment, so you are guaranteed a fitting room and an experienced consultant.
Do dresses have to be ordered?
In order to provide the best selection for you, we carry one sample of each dress. Upon selecting a dress, your consultant will place a special order in the size and color which suits you and your needs. The store’s sample sizes range from 8- 18 and 12w- 20W. Dresses can be ordered in sizes above and below that of the sample that we have in-store.
How long does it take to receive my dress?
Approximate order times are between 6-12 months from the order date.
This allows us to get the dress much faster than full order time, but this depends on the size, color, and style of the dress.
What happens if I need alterations?
Madelange Laroche Bridal Design Studio offers alterations on-site. You can expect anywhere between two to three fittings for all gowns. However, each garment is unique and has different alteration needs. Alterations are a separate service and are not included in the price of any garment from our boutiques.
Can I be measured at Madelange Bridal Design Studio if I did not purchase with you?
Yes, we provide measurement services for those who are not our clients. Measurement appointments are between 15-30 minutes with a fee of $25.00
What payment methods are accepted?
We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and cash for payment.
What is your refund policy?
All sales are final for all of our products, including, but not limited to, wedding gowns, veils, accessories, suits, bridesmaid dresses, mother-of-the-bride dresses, and flower girl dresses. There are no returns, refunds, or exchanges on any purchase. This policy also applies to any and all deposits made on dresses for order. All off-the-rack purchases are final.
How much does a dress cost?
Our pricing is based on the time and materials required to create each dress. Factors such as style details, fabrics, and time constraints can lead to differences in price. We understand that everyone is working with a budget of some sort, and we are happy to make style suggestions and offer fabric choices that work as best as possible with your budget.
How long does it take to complete a dress?
Most wedding planners suggest shopping for your dress 6 to 9 months before your wedding date. This gives our designers enough time to do the necessary research, find fabric samples, and design a truly unique garment to suit your personal style. However because we construct the dresses locally in our studio, shorter time frames are possible and can be discussed by contacting us.
How long are appointments?
Bridal or consultation appointments are usually one and a half hours and mother of the bride/special occasion are one hour.
I am nervous about having a dress made. What happens if I don't like my dress when it is finished?
We are trained in fashion design and have experience working with lots of different body types. We can look at the drawing, the fabric swatch, and your body and can visualize the final result. Our process is designed to help you visualize the final result as much as possible. We have many photos and sample dresses in our studio that we can use to illustrate certain silhouettes, details, fabrics, and color combinations. We do the first fitting as a mock-up so you will see how the dress will look on your body before we cut your real fabric. You will also have your dress on 2-4 more times before it is completed so there will be no surprises!
I have my own fabric. Can you use it?
We are happy to look at the fabrics you have and tell you if they are suitable for the type of dress you are looking for. In the event that they cannot be used, we will happily suggest other fabrics for you and attempt to find them.
What if I am late to my consultation appointment?
Please note if you are going to be more than 30 minutes late to your appointment we will need you to reschedule to allow adequate time. Please let us know as soon as possible if you anticipate being late.
I need a dress next week, can you help me?
We may be able to help. Please let us know your situation and we will try our best to help you!
Can I cancel, return, or exchange my custom made dress?
Please note all customized product is final sale. There are no refunds, exchanges, or cancellations. If you fail to pick up your dress by your event date as stated on your contract, your gown and deposit will be considered forfeited.
